A class of German artists joins for DELTA, to bond and balance their developing positions. All of these are shaped by their common ground, the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, an institution set amidst the historically and socially remarkable environment of the former Eastern German city of Dresden.
Although they cover a broad canon in nature and origin, they all belong to the same generation of young artists that has inherited the task to redefine artistic expression through sincerity, in order to be believable. It is the task to choose a cause in the arbitrary and the attempt to carry seriousness lightly, where art is not competitive delusion but labour at the frontiers of sensual perception.
In his very own way and debate, each of these artists seeks refinement in articulating, positioning and crafting his work, for it is refinement that reinterprets reality. Oil painting, as the most immediate transformation of human memory and gesture, is the predominant medium but gathers with graphical, conceptual and other visual approaches.
